ZURICH (Reuters) - Johnson & Johnson is buying manufacturer of Swiss medical devices Synthes Inc in a deal worth $ 21.3 million, its largest ever buy, promote their orthopaedics franchise and the reorganization of the medical technology industry.
The diversified group of health will pay 159 Swiss francs per share Synthes, said that the two companies on Wednesday. I.e. a cousin of the 8.5 per cent on the Synthes closing price on Tuesday.
The agreement, which is expected to close in the first half of the year 2012, with the support of the Synthes and J & J together and will be J & J a leading position in equipment for the treatment of trauma.
Synthes, which recorded sales of $ 3.7 million in 2010, makes nails, screws and plates to correct fractures of bones, as well as artificial spinal disks.
